Aegis General is pleased to announce the addition of a new Aegis University CE course on the subject of estimating the replacement cost of a dwelling.

Our California Difference in Conditions (DIC) course has been immensely popular and our broker partners have been requesting more courses.  So, due to popular demand, we created a new session to delve into the requirements and best practices for estimating the replacement cost of your client’s dwelling.  As with our DIC course, we are pleased to offer this new Aegis University course free of charge.  The course satisfies California continuing education (CE) requirements for 1-hour of credit towards your California insurance license renewal.

In addition, if you follow us on LinkedIn, we will post notices of additional courses as they become available.  If you haven’t already taken our free DIC course, it provides an additional 2-hours of California CE credit as well.

Good news!  Our two new carrier partners have now been added to the IVANS data feed we send to your agency management system every night.  If you are already receiving downloads to your AMS from Aegis, you likely do not need to do anything to begin receiving downloads for our new carrier partners.  However, some AMS systems require that you input the NAIC code associated with each carrier in order for your AMS to receive information correctly.  Should you need to do this, the correct NAIC codes are:

  • NAIC #12502 for DB Insurance Company, Ltd (U.S. Branch)
  • NAIC #10004 for Seaview Insurance Company

If you are not already receiving downloads into your management system, please click the link here to send us your download request form and we’ll get you set up right away.

Aegis General is pleased to announce a new California Dwelling Fire program, backed by A.M. Best “A” rated DB Insurance Company.  The new program contains the same great features and ease-of-use that California’s independent insurance brokers have come to enjoy from Aegis, with the additional backing of one of the largest non-life insurance companies in South Korea.

DB’s U.S. operations are based in California with additional offices in Hawaii and New York.

The new dwelling fire program complements the new stand-alone DIC program that Aegis released last month by providing fire, windstorm and related coverages for homes of all occupancies with low Wildfire Scores.  For your clients with Wildfire Scores higher than 0Y, the new DIC program provides added protection.  For clients with Wildfire Scores of 0Y or lower, this new dwelling fire program provides DP-3 protection with Section II (Personal Liability) protection available from the same policy.  DP-1 policies also remain available.

The new DB dwelling fire program is for all new DP-3 policies effective Monday, May 4th or later.  All quotes that are not bound prior to May 4th will need to be requoted under the new program.  Please note that DIC-endorsed DP-3 policies will no longer be available beginning May 4th as well.  All DIC policies should be quoted and bound using the new stand-alone DIC program that is underwritten by Seaview Insurance Company.

Please contact your local Aegis sales representative if you have any questions.  We look forward to continuing to support you and your clients with the best and easiest to use insurance protection in the industry.
